Sarah has over 25 years experience working with people with issues similar to yours. She has worked with people of:
- all ages (4-85);
- many different ethnicities (American, Hispanic, Indian, Pakistani, South American, Japanese, Korean, etc) different religions (Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Hindu);
- sexual orientations and identifications (heterosexual, homosexual, transgender and gender-neutral).
She has worked with individuals, couples, and families. Parenting issues; which may be dealing with minor children, or conflict between adult children and their parents.
Sarah has lots of different tools. She has been influenced by the work of Freud (obviously), Fritz Perls (Gestalt therapy), Virginia Satir, Salvador Minuchin, Carl Whittaker, William Pinsof, and Richard Schwartz (Internal Family Systems). She has also been influenced by Judeo-Christian thought and culture, Native American Studies, Eastern philosophy, Martin Buber, Shakti Gawain, John Bradshaw, Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra and Thich Nhat Hanh, among others.
More importantly, from her experiences and studies, Sarah has found the freedom to utilize her own creativity and humor in her work. With so many different influences, she is not locked into any one model, and she will work with you, to determine what works for you.
Sarah can help you, and she wants to help you. For her, her practice is a calling, not a 9 – 5 and leave it all in the office. Sarah is warm, and her office is comfortable. You won’t feel like you’re spilling your guts to a stranger, who may or may not be interested. You also won’t feel like you are talking to a brick wall. Sarah is NOT the therapist who sits there nodding and saying nothing. She is interactive, and she is wise from years of experience with so many different kinds of people. You will feel valued and supported. Your bad habits may not be supported, but your heart will be.
